NEW BEGINNINGS - MADELINE

Maddie is like the mascot of Unfettered Studios at this rate 🤣 but I love her amazing talent for it! I tried to use my flash (with varying results, lol) to create a deep separation between subject and background. It was a great idea. My flash just decided it wasn't going to cooperate. BUT we got some great snaps anyway! As we always do ❤️✨️

I had the absolute honour of taking the photos of my best friend's () engagement to Tim (who I've known since school!). I've never had such shakey hands shooting photos (iykyk)

Amongst my silly boxing day pictures, we have a beautiful vase.

I can't begin to express how in awe I am of . They make everything they touch amazing. She is my business buddy, and I couldn't recommend her enough (in the most non biased way I can muster).

Go check out Tayla's website and instagram with all her pottery goodness. I got gifts for all my family within my budget, which is insanely good! And yet she doesn't undervalue herself!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVERYONE!

If you didn't know, I have a relationship with Jesus. I have since I was small. If this is news to you, I'm sorry I haven't been transparent. Honestly, I've been a bit frightened that I was going to lose my friends. But hopefully, you prove me wrong

I believe that Jesus came to us as an infant and lived amongst us until he died on a cross for our sins.

At Christmas, we can lose sight of what is important. It all becomes about worldly things. And to me, that doesn't feel right.

So I challenge you today, before the big day comes, to think about your fellow people and maybe even give a thought to the God who made you. He's been knocking. Time to let him in?

It's that time of year...

Where Beth wraps up with some beautiful Christmas photoshoots at the lovely Tayla's () home studio.

I would highly recommend her amazing space! It was so special (and frantic) to be able to use the DIY Christmas room for THREE photoshoots all in 1.5 hours, haha. Stay tuned for the last but most special photshoot on Christmas Eve!

A classy Christmas with Kailan!

Thank you, Kailan, for a wonderful photoshoot session! It's so encouraging to see an emerging model finding her stride. I hardly said a word to Kailan a part from giggling about things. She just was on my wavelength!

The Muppet Christmas Carol

Wait, wait, wait! Before you scroll, I want to challenge you to read this post before you judge me for liking puppet based movies. Hehe.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is the classic story of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol but with SINGING PUPPETS!!

Scrooge (Michael Caine - yes, really) is joined by a mixed cast of mostly Jim Henson's Muppets but some humans too, to create a masterpiece.

The reason I'm suggesting watching this film is that The Jim Henson Company is absolutely beyond anything done with foam and fabric and has created a world that can translate to any setting. These comfort characters are so effortless and timeless.

Mr Dickens' Christmas Carol is a beautiful story with intricate wording that the writers and director Brian Henson (son of Jim) so lovingly placed in the script for The Great Gonzo to say with such passion that you wouldn't usually see from him as a character.

So, start it because it's wholesome, see it til the end because it's incredible.

As the year winds down, its good to relax and find some peace if we can. I wanted to recommend some films that inspire me but also aren't too heavy for your December viewing.

Mona Lisa Smile (PG 2003 ‧ Romance/Comedy ‧ 1h 57m)
"In a world that told them how to think, she showed them how to live."

This INCREDIBLE masterpiece was directed by Mike Newell (Donnie Brasco, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). Although I wish this film had a female director, I think the female actors in the film carried the woman's perspective.

Mona Lisa Smile is about Katherine Watson (Julia Roberts), an art history teacher in 1953 who's one focus in life was a position at the respectable all-female Wellesley College. She meets her students who in my opinion absolutely demolished her with their book smarts. Katherine then breaks down the societal norms of the 1950s woman as the year progresses. Her students begin to follow but not without trials. In the end, what makes this film interesting is that she actually 'fails' with one of her key students (with her dropping her dreams of Law School to become a wife to the love of her life.) This path that the student takes is admirable in one way due to the sacrifices but in another way, SHE COULD HAVE DONE BOTH!

The only quarrel I had with the film is that Katherine was given love interests. Although it gave Katherine something to grow through personally, I'd argue that she could've done this through the students she was teaching and their lives. There were a few storylines that could've been explored more. I won't go into them as I want you to actually watch this haha.

So go give Mona Lisa Smile a watch! (It's on Netflix [not sponsored])
