In Everly Issue 2 we take a look at the documentary 'Firestarter - The Story of Bangarra'. A deeply moving experience of the power of art as a messenger for social change and healing. It tells the story of early founders Stephen, David and Russell Page - 3 young Aboriginal brothers and how they turned Bangarra into a First Nations performing arts powerhouse. The film also marked Bangarra's 30th anniversary. ❤❤❤

If you're looking for something to watch this weekend (or anytime really) we thoroughly recommend 'Firestarter - The Story of Bangarra'. It's a must-see!

In this issue you will find a Hey Polly 2 page article where I discussed life running a business with two little chihuahuas who are my version of children. 🐾

To be in a magazine that features Paris fashion week, of and so many more amazing reads is so amazing!! Not to mention my fellow Mum-Preneurs I’ve tagged in this reel 🥰

Lesley it means a lot that you see me and acknowledge my dog mum-ness. It made me feel a part of something I don’t usually feel a part of due to not having human children so it was really lovely xo

Have you got dreams of running your own business one day? 🤔 Do you sometimes get caught up in the worry and over-think things… and ultimately put the idea in the ‘too hard’ basket? We asked a bunch of lady startups (who also double as mumpreneurs) for their advice when it comes to starting a small biz. Mel from .wares says: “Just do it! Cliché I know, but sometimes we can over-think things… We’re constantly analysing and altering… but sometimes you just have to get it out there. It’s a moving entity… but nothing is stuck forever. Take the leap, get it out there, test the market, then go from there.”

Hello 👋 and belated new year well wishes for 2022! We hope the year has started off on the right foot for you. We've taken a bit of time off Insta lately to concentrate on finalising Issue 3 (feeling a lot like this beautiful illustration 👆🙃 but also getting excited for another cracker of an issue!). Hats off to all the jugglers and multi-taskers out there! May 2022 be kind to you all. Onwards and upwards as they say. 💫

I was talking to my friend yesterday over some vino and we came to the conclusion that as mothers who balance parenting, working, connecting, maintaining friendships, relationships, brainstorming new ideas, we don’t give ourselves enough credit nor time to slow down just a little. We so often get sucked into this vortex of to do lists, that we forget to remember that there’s neither guilt nor shame to be found in just taking a moment for ourselves. So here’s to all the moms (and dads too for that matter! We see you doing magic!), take a moment, raise a glass and celebrate you doing the best you can. 🥂
