Here is the new single from foo fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett

Written and recorded before the untimely death of drummer Taylor Hawkins yet something haunting within the lyrics

“I watched your smile slowly start to fade/ When the daylight chased the stars way,” “Now our best laid plans don’t give a damn anymore.”

9:00 PM – Angus Murray (Southern Highlands)

Highland FM’s 100% Home-Grown showcase shines a light on local musicians who are featured as part of our Artist of the Month initiative.

From woozy indigenous rock to feminist post-punk, there’s plenty of great new 100% Home-Grown music to love in 2022

Presented by: Highland FM 107.1 – MusicNSW – Southern Tablelands Arts – Southern Highland News.

This great line up of original talent from the region includes:

JERIKYE WILLIAMS – ARTIST OF THE MONTH – JUNE

7:00PM
Jerikye Williams is a Wiradjuri man, born in Cowra and living in Queanbeyan on Ngambri/Ngunnawal land. Jerikye is said to have been born with a guitar in his hand and a great love for 1950’s and 60’s rock’n roll.

At 20, he embodies the spirit of great artists with effortless musicianship and charisma. A natural showman, he lights up any stage, whether performing classics or his own original songs.

Jerikye has been playing live shows in his local region since the end of his high school years originally performing solo or with his aunty Maria Williams’ backing guitar and harmony vocals and since with other well-known artists.

This indigenous rocker prowls the stage with mega-bravado. His swagger, chord progressions and blistering guitar reflect the 1960’s rock revolution.

Jerikye Williams goes far deeper than teenage impulses by tracing a path from rock ‘n’ roll to jazz, to blues, to the music of pre-colonial Australia and the vibrant musical traditions they carried.

Truly an entertaining and enthralling performer that crosses all age groups and genres.

WE MAVERICKS – ARTIST OF THE MONTH – APRIL

8:00PM
The trans-tasman powerhouse duo who pack punches but bring songs to heal your scars. Featuring only a foot-stomping Kiwi girl and an Australian country boy, their music is more than the sum of its parts.

Lindsay Martin’s masterful strings and vocals meet Victoria Vigenser’s magnificent voice, in driving rhythms and a connection you have to hear to believe. With echoes of soulful Americana and Celtic roots in their gritty, evocative material, it’s award-winning musicianship wrapped in a trademark tightness.

Nominated “Best Folk Artist” in the 2022 Aotearoa (NZ) Music Awards, nominated Australian Folk Music Awards “Artists of the Year, Best Duo/Group/Ensemble” 2021 and recipients of the 2020 Troubadour Foundation Award, they’re making a bold mark in both home countries. Now with the duo’s debut “Grief’s a Gardener”, they bring connected and grounding original songs in the sort of show that will leave your tank topped up.

ANGUS MURRAY – ARTIST OF THE MONTH – MAY
