I’m the first to admit; I was guilty of falling prey to the binge culture and sedentary lifestyle that plagues our modern society.

But did you know that there are increasing lifestyle factors that come with this?

A sedentary lifestyle poses risks to both physical and mental health, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes, muscle atrophy, poor posture, back pain, reduced flexibility, anxiety, depression, and stress. 😫

Prolonged sitting can also impair cognitive function and productivity. 😶‍🌫️

To counteract these effects, it's essential to incorporate regular physical activity and breaks from sitting into daily routines.

Like I have captured in my previous post; during my Netflix watching; I have changed up my watching habits to include walking on the treadmill 🫶🏻 a simple but effective way to break the sitting behaviour and include more active minutes in my day🚶‍♀️🙌🏻

It’s no secret that we are all prone to snacking - and maybe on the wrong things when we are feeling hungry and caught out in the wrong places.

Protein yogurts can be a good source of protein, which is essential for muscle repair and growth.

Whilst I love including yogurt in my snack rotation; like any snack choice - it’s important to check the label for added sugars and artificial ingredients.

Opt for ones with minimal added sugars and natural ingredients for the healthiest option 🥰 (here is an example of some you could choose for yourself)

Balancing life's demands often means compromising our health at times due to factors like time constraints and stress.

I found during my journey, that if my lifestyle was to strict and didn’t allow for some flexibility; I wouldn’t stick to my routine and my overall goals fell away 🫣

While sugary, alcoholic, and processed foods aren't ideal, moderate consumption can still be part of a balanced lifestyle.

Instead of strict elimination, opt for a sustainable approach by including nourishing foods in your diet while occasionally indulging in small portions of treats. 🥗🥛🧁
This maintains balance and prevents guilt or discomfort from overindulgence. 🥰
