East Point Dragons Girls and Women's Football Club

❤️🤍💙We are excited to announce Zoe 'Poppy' Wathen has joined the East Point Dragons for the 2023 football season as an Assistant Coach.

Zoe knows how to lead the way just like she did as co-captain in our Inaugural 2019 Women's Premiership victory. On the field Poppy was a highly skilled 'running machine' who knew how to read and impact the play when needed - an oppositions worst nightmare!

Zoe is a proud and passionate East Point member and has been known to come down to White Flat on her nights off just to help the Junior squads with their training.

We are extremely excited to welcome Zoe to the Dragons in her Assistant Coaching role and we wish her all the best for the 2023 season.

“Cowgirls have another win!
Playing on the Brown Hill first grade turf oval at the Western Oval, the bowling performance was once again excellent. Rebecca once again showing the benefit of hitting top of off stump.
It would be unfair to pick any individual performance in the field because everyone contributed admirably. Superb performance on a turf wicket to keep East/Wendouree to 100 off 20 overs.
Cowgirls commenced batting in the gloom and drizzle starting mid innings. Cindy retired not out 33, following Emma retired not out 30. Cowgirls passing 100 in 14 overs. Tremendous performance given that top scorers from last week were not required for the win.

Thanks to East Ballarat/Wendouree for a game played in great spirit.

“Recapping our first round and match together as a team, After 10 years women’s cricket returned to Brown Hill Cricket Club last Friday 4 November.
The Cowgirls finally got to play after the previous round was washed out. The excitement and anticipation was huge as we made our way to the Wendouree West Oval to play against Golden Point.
Batting first, we made 93 off 20 overs. Lindsay whacking 25 and Rebecca caressing a neat 22. Not everyone got to bat so we will make sure that you get a chance next game. It was a really good performance considering that we could only train indoors with all the rain. Nobody got run out! Only 4 wickets. Many boundaries hit. Lots of smiles and celebrations.
Next up we fielded with 10 players against Point’s 11. Two of our team were unavailable due to the relatively good excuse of getting married. Congrats Summer and Cass.
Every player fit to bowl did. Outstanding effort to hold Point to 90 runs. Rach took a great chest mark and got a wicket. Rebecca got the chocolates with two wickets and a runout. Great game! A very special mention to Emm who bowled three death overs for 5 runs and to Cindy who bowled 4 overs for 8 runs. This is what wins T20 matches. Jordan gets a mention for taking the gloves for the second half of the innings. Also you, our official Energiser Bunny, Ness who cut off at least 15 runs out on the boundary.
Well done Cowgirls and an excellent performance from Point to just miss out on chasing our target and finishing after sunset too! Thank goodness for the glow in the dark orange ball.

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗘𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 🏉

The Darley Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Brett Faulkhead as our Senior Women's Football Coach for our 2023 Season.

Brett is a Bacchus Marsh local and made the move to our beautiful town back in 2005. He comes to our club with a wealth of coaching experience having been involved with the BM Cobras in many different roles including Juniors Coach, Under 18's Assistant Coach, Seniors Assistant Coach and Junior Girls coach more recently.

When asked what he loves about being coach his response - "I am too old to play and I love the game socoaching is a way I can stay connected to the sport. I really enjoy the teaching side. If I can pass on things I have learnt and develop players with skills whilst at the same time bringing enjoyment to the team then I am satisfied that I have achieved that task."
