Yesterday we had howling 🐺 experience at the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg participating in the Homecoming Startups 2024 event.

We had a ball 💃 interacting with the next generation of Austrian developers 🕹️ & happily supported a panel discussion 📢 about the business location Salzburg.

We have been impressed by the quality of Start Up activities and the ideas as well as momentum that is floating around in Salzburg.

Last week Fachverband UBIT hosted a press conference presenting the latest economic numbers about the Austrian Games Industry.

As a follow up to a study from 2018 we see significant growth of our local industry in terms of amount of studios (+71,3%), number of developers (+127,8%), projects developed (+208%) and revenue generated (+183,6%).

While we are still a smaller community in absolute numbers, the potential growth that is reflected in this study is extraordinary and shows the abilities of our innovative, highly skilled & well-educated local industry.

Thanks to Fachverband UBIT, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA & PGDA (Pioneers of Game Development Austria) for making this study possible and special thanks to IWI (https://iwi.ac.at/) for creating the very thorough survey.

After 9 marvelous ✨ years in our old office 🏢, agency 47 🎯, we simply outgrew the space and are in need for a new home :-(

With fond memories we are closing the doors and are super excited about our new endeavor at a very cool new place nearby. 🏠

Last week Paula our managing goose 🪿celebrated a huge extravaganza for her 15th anniversary. 🎉 She almost couldn't believe she is around for 1.5 decades! And what a track record she can look back to. All the memories & the cake made her sleepy though 🎂😄

Mi'pu'mi Games is very proud, humbled and feels very privileged that our very own Martin Filipp has been appointed by the Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Wirtschaft for the newly established Creative Industry Council to support the "Innovation Program for the Creative Industries 2030" initiative.

The composition of the council reflects the variety of the creative industry in Austria and manifests the strong impulse for the overall economy. More than 77k companies in that sector represent 13% of all businesses in Austria and are responsible for EUR 28 billion yearly revenue.

Games are a prototype within the creative industry with a truly multidisciplinary approach from tech to art to design to narrative helping to create an immersive experience for players around the globe.

On behalf of the entire Austrian developer scene, thanks to Federal Minister Martin Kocher and his team for actively inviting games to that program, acknowledging the importance of our thriving industry for the overall economy in Austria as well as our innovation potential.

🕹 Games are a cornerstone of the digital transformation with well educated employees (80% academics) and a very young workforce (50% younger than 35 years) that tripled their yearly revenue in the past 5 years.

Looking forward to an exciting and interesting collaboration with the council in the years to come!
