Today is my birthday. Amidst the celebrations, I cannot ignore the severe conflicts and wars currently raging around us. They deeply touch and preoccupy me!
For more than four decades, I have lived in the rhythm of music, listening to it, conversing with it, and learning from it. Music is not just a collection of notes or sounds; it's a living language that understands and is understood across cultural, geographical, and temporal boundaries.
In my journey as a DJ, I've always aimed not just to play music, but to build a bridge between me and the listeners—a bridge made of energy, emotion, and heart. Every set, every beat, every song has been, and always will be, a matter of the heart.
Music has shown me the way, taught and inspired me. It has taken me into the depths of various cultures, opened my eyes to their beauty, and taught me the universal language of harmony. Through music, I've learned that true beauty lies in diversity, and it's the variations in tones and melodies that make a song so special.
Even though I've never seen myself as politically active, music brought me closer to understanding what it means to embody values like tolerance, compassion, and ethics. It showed me that every song carries a message waiting to be heard.
Growing up in a democracy where art and creativity can flourish has been a privilege I've never taken for granted. In this environment, my passion for music was able to grow and bloom.
Our music community has always stood for openness and acceptance. We are an example of what can happen when people meet with respect, love, and openness. Let's preserve this spirit and continue to unite through the universal language of music.
