Let's take a trip down memory lane, back to 30 years ago when this photo was snapped 📸 It captures the essence of the ALIENATOR studio nestled in an old cellar in Bolzano, South Tyrol (Italy), a space we shared with a Death Metal Band 🤘

In those days, DJs often voiced their frustration about certain styles or genres fading away. Unlike today, where people tend to grumble and criticize, we took matters into our own hands. When the beats we craved weren't out there or didn't meet our preferences, we gathered in studios like this one.

Countless nights and weekends were dedicated to experimenting until we had the music we wanted to share with the world. Fast forward to now, where everything is at our fingertips, yet instead of creating, there's a trend towards lamenting and pointing fingers at those not producing what we want to hear 🎵

There were no ready-made loops to create a track—a significant part of today's problem. Only a handful of producers create the well-known sample packs for providers. The result is a predictable sound. Additionally, providers tailor samples to mimic the styles of Artist A or Artist B, all in the pursuit of making money. This leads to a lack of new and interesting music that stands out. And finally, there are "Adam Beyers" in the scene who mix things up and give it a new name - "Peaktime." When that gets old, they move on to the next genre, compiling something new. This isn't musical progress. Certain elements are perfect for a specific BPM and not for others.

Loops can be a quick and easy way to shape the track you envision. However, by this, we mean creating your idea with synth on the piano roll. Throw in a kick loop and a hi-hat loop to get an initial sound. Later, craft your unique layered kick or hi-hat sequence that fits your idea. Music Theory might seem complex at first, but once you grasp the basics, you can achieve things you never imagined.

Every long journey begins with a small step, so for 2024, let's breathe life back into music and create something new and extraordinary 🚀🎵

After several weeks of going through one infection after another with endless fever, I am glad to announce that I have regained my health. 🙏

I am very happy about it, as I am currently in my last semester of my biochemistry studies and sliding from one exam to the next!
