Good news, everyone! The first release this year is from French musician and sound activist Pascal Battus, titled "Organ Zenithal." Available on cassette and as a download, it looks and sounds beautiful. It marks the beginning of more releases to come throughout the year.

Sound artist Pascal Battus prioritizes sonic gestures, listening, and contextual situations over specific instruments. He explores unconventional tools like guitar pickups, rotating surfaces, and surrounded guitar. Regularly featured internationally, he collaborates widely, often with dancers and visual performers, co-creating Sound Massages and Graphones.
On Organ Zenithal Battus 2 features multitrack compositions based on the same sound material (cymbals), which were recorded by Benjamin Maumus and edited by Pascal Battus himself.

Good news, everyone! After a long journey, the wonderful album by Marcia Bassett and Sergej Vutuc has finally reached the world. Despite some minor production hurdles that caused a delay, this album is now physically available on tape. It looks and sounds beautiful and marks a dreamy journey that is our last release for this year.

Bug are a noise rock quartet from Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria. Bug's universe of sound is post-modern. All or nothing: Old skool noise rock collides with black metal. Doom and blues merges. Sludge mutates with Jazz Rock. Stoic musical autism combined with a consistent DIY attitude.
For over 2 decades.
Bug have been playing shows with the crème de la crème of the punk / metal / HC / noise rock underground since 1997, such as Flipper, Unsane, Oxbow and many more. Two "newcomers" changed their lineup minimally in the last 20 years.
Bug have released about 10 records with the help of friendly austrian labels (Interstellar Records / Rock Is Hell Records / Noise Appeal Records ).

community! we are back from a journey and are happy and proud to announce a new release

INT055 MRM TRIO "ears are for ringing" MC / DL

MRM TRIO consists of well-known names of the experimental scene from Serbia, Austria and Croatia: Marina Džukljev (Eco Tiger organ), Richie Herbst (modular synthesizer) and Miodrag Gladović (electric guitar, electronics).
MRM members strive to discover hidden sounds through improvisational play of dynamic and dense drones, processed, modulated and fused in a live setting.
MRM TRIO was born at the 5th Improcon Congress of Free Thought and Music in Bistrica ob Sotli in 2019. Marina, Richie and Mijo, the few Improcon participants with non-portable instruments, met by chance in the room where their instruments and equipment were installed and tried to play together. They soon felt a mutual "chemistry" and immediately recorded an in-situ album "ears are for ringing".
the ear are for the singing, the ring sing for the ears and tears are for the ringing - seem to be the mottos for each of the three pieces that officially go by the titles Black Fish, Oblak and Quiet Now.
On this album, the Trio is collaborating with Mario Stadler at Goon Studios / Austria, well-known for it’s recordings of artists like Attwenger, Elektro Guzzi and his own band Tumido. The artwork for the Release (on Tape and digital) is a collaboration of the Zagreb based artists Miron Milić and Darko Kujundžić, and was refined in Riso-Print process in collaboration with Risofort located in Hamburg / Germany.

We´re continuing our celebration of 20 years of Interstellar Records with this year´s fifth release! It will be out on December 24th, 2021, with the catalogue number of
INT050 FRANJO GLUŠAC 'home' MC
The solo release of FRANJO GLUŠAC, well-known as the guitar player of Zagreb's band-collective PEACH PIT. Recorded on December 24th 2018, released digitally on December 24th 2019 via our beloved GURANJE S LITICE Records and now finally out physically on tape.
It´s quite a special release for us in another way, since it´s our number 50 – admittedly, that does make us proud!
'home' is one of the quietest and most acoustic albums Interstellar Records ever released. GLUŠAC's acoustic guitar play touches heart and soul. It's also his personal tribute to John Fahey, and includes interpretations of two of this legendary musician´s songs.

Das Venster 99 braucht eure Unterstützung!

Aufgrund der renovierungs- und pandemiebedingten Verzögerung unseres Reopenings sind wir erneut auf eure finanzielle Unterstützung angewiesen. Wir sind mehr als Dankbar für die bisher erhaltenen Spenden die dem Verein Venster seit Pandemiebeginn das Überleben gesichert haben. Wir waren in den letzten 1,5 Jahren nicht untätig. Es ist viel Zeit und Arbeit in unser “Wohnzimmer” geflossen und wir sind bereits voller Vorfreude unser gegenkulturelles Experimentierfeld, in infrastrukturell besser ausgestalteter Form, wieder mit euch gemeinsam zu gestalten.

Da die monatlichen Fixkosten auch während der Pandemie weiterhin zu zahlen sind und überlebensnotwendige Einnahmen durch den spendenbasierten Kulturbetrieb bis auf weiteres ausbleiben, sind wir einmal mehr auf eure finanzielle Unterstützung angewiesen. Nur mit Hilfe eurer Solidarität kann es gelingen, das Venster 99 als selbstorganisierten, unkommerziellen Gegenentwurf zur Hochkultur am Leben zu halten!

INT053 JOANNA JOHN & MICHAŁ STĘPIEŃ 'we are the alchemy' MC / DL

The second album of Joanna John on Interstellar Records, this time in cooperation with extreme music activist Michał Stępień from Poland. It's a masterpiece of ambient music, prepared with drones and field recordings. Because "We Are The Alchemy"!

Alchemy is mystical transformation of the basic into the noble. But it also means revealing a deep, primary substance of things through the elements. The sonic laboratory on this album comprises isolated, pure ingredients gradually and precisely processed into astonishing coherence and harmony. From the hum of drones, the slow clangour of guitar, the shimmer of electronics, cosmoses eventually emerge. (Olga Drenda)
