This morning, many are waking up to the news that one of our most beloved advocates is preparing to transition from this Earth. Coming on the heels of Todd's death makes it even harder, as the void will now be even bigger for our families and victims. Today, we are keeping Marianne, her family, and all our Missouri Missing friends in our prayers, and sending love to all who are hurting as she prepares to leave us.
Marianne, we thank you for all you have done for our missing and murdered, and the valiant fight you have put up throughout this diagnosis. We love you and will miss you until we meet again. Over the next few days, we will be working on a series of tributes related to Todd's work: from his development of The Doe Network and NamUs to how he got his start with 'Tent Girl', to his push to make Billy's Law a reality on the Federal Level. Todd's passing will leave a huge hole in our community that will never again be filled, and many of us are in shock this morning at the unexpected news of his passing. I ask each of you to please share this with his friends and colleagues, as many are already reaching out to share their stories and memories of Todd.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Todd Matthews. Todd founded the Doe Network and went on to create the NamUs database with the Department of Justice, and is personally responsible for giving answers to thousands of families over the last two decades.
Todd's passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving many of us in shock. We know our families are hurting today, and want you to know that you are not alone.

On May 2, 1996 my body was found in a desert area near 98th and Tower Road in , New Mexico. I had been deceased for a couple of weeks prior to being found. My body was wrapped in 6 dark trash bags, which were tied with green electrical wire.
I was 14-19 years old at the time of my death and I was between 5’2” and 5’4” with light brown hair and dark eyes. I was found wearing light blue Levi 550 Jeans, a V-neck ribbed sweater, and a black lace bra.
