Swaggie Records originally started by members of the Graeme Bell Band who, in 1952, passed the label over to Nevill Sherburn who made the label one of the iconic Australian record companies. Nevill released albums by many of Australia's leading jazz musicians of the era, including; Graeme Bell, John Sangster, The Barnard Brothers, Don Burrows, Ade Monsbourgh...plus overseas recording artists inclu

ding; Earl Hines (pianist for Louis Armstrong), and the Bob Crosby Orchestra (Bing Crosby's brother). Nevill Sherburn passed away recently, and long-term friend and record producer Bill Armstrong (of Bilarm Music), knowing the importance of the Swaggie label, was able to acquire the label and re-release the product into the market.
