The trailer for my upcoming documentary Weapons of Change.

Kisumu, Kenya, 2021. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, gender based violence has reached a boiling point. R**e, defilement, AIDS, prostitution, teen pregnancies, early marriage and domestic violence run rampant. Widespread poverty and police corruption only feeds fuel to the fire. Most women in Kenya can tell you stories of abuse. Due to the stigma, many avoid talking about it. Until now. However, this film is not only about listening to the stories of survivors. For all the tragedy in this world, there are always those who try to help. Lawyers fight to bring rapists to justice. Artists use the tradition of public theatre to raise awareness. Community workers empower women through vocational training. What are their weapons of change? Art, education, community and empowerment. This film sheds a light on the strength of Kenyan women who are fighting for a better future.

GHOST CITY VIENNA - Usually you can only get photos like this at 5am but these were taken Friday lunchtime. All these areas are extreme tourist hotspots and usually have thousands of visitors a day. I left my 1 bed apartment for the first time in 7 days to go for a walk. I encountered quite a few homeless. Its difficult to be stuck inside all by myself but at least I have a space I can retreat to during a pandemic. Not to mention they have no easy means to keep basic hygiene. They're basically just out there waiting till the virus catches up with them...

Above and around Jardin, a sleepy lil town in the mountains near Medellin.

Flying over the historic comuna 13 in Medellin, Colombia.

What once was one of the most notorious and dangerous areas in Medellin is now transformed into a tourist hot spot.

"Comuna 13 Medellin is an over-populated and low socio-economic zone that crawls up along the west hills of the city with thousands of brick and cement homes stacked close to one another. It was a pivotal center for paramilitary, guerrilla, and gang activity. Its location is ideal for crime, as it leads directly to the main highway (San Juan Highway), providing easy transportation of guns, drugs, and money."

Today sprawling graffiti, dance groups, teenage DJs with makeshift boomboxes, visual artists and rappers attract a ridiculous ton of tourists to reinvent this dangerous ghetto as a hub for art and culture.
