Social media management is often seen as posting content, but in reality it plays a far more strategic role in how a brand is perceived, discovered, and remembered.

In 2026, consistency and clarity across platforms have become essential. Brands that maintain a structured and intentional presence are significantly more likely to build trust and long-term recognition within their audience.

Studies continue to show that social media directly influences decision-making in the luxury, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors, with inspiration often translating into enquiries or bookings within a short timeframe.

At the same time, expectations have shifted. Audiences are less responsive to overly curated content and are instead engaging more with storytelling that feels considered, yet natural. This balance between refinement and authenticity is now what defines strong digital presence.

A well-managed social media strategy typically includes content planning aligned with brand positioning, consistent visual direction, captioning that supports storytelling, and ongoing optimisation based on performance and audience behaviour.

It is not about volume, but about direction. Every post should contribute to a broader narrative that reinforces what the brand stands for.

Social media continues to play an increasingly important role in the hospitality industry, and 2026 is no exception.

89% of hospitality businesses are already using social media for marketing, and with 61% of travelers booking a hotel after seeing it on Instagram, its influence on decision-making is hard to ignore.

Short-form video remains one of the strongest tools for visibility, with 73% of consumers preferring it to discover products and services. At the same time, authenticity is becoming more important than ever, over 70% of users say they value real, unfiltered content, and user-generated posts often outperform polished campaigns.

We’re also seeing a shift in how people search. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok are increasingly used as discovery tools for hotels, restaurants and destinations, while features like direct booking integrations make the journey from inspiration to reservation even shorter.

At the same time, brands are moving towards smaller, niche creators with highly engaged audiences, rather than relying solely on large influencers.

What this means in practice?

A strong social media presence today is not just about aesthetics, it’s about visibility, trust, and creating content that feels relevant and real.

If you’re looking to strengthen your social media presence or need support navigating these changes, feel free to get in touch, I’d be happy to help.

Content for Schedler Music, one of the leading independent music publishers in the German-speaking area and their unique Mountain Studio concept in Austria.

Set high in the mountains, the Mountain Studio offers a creative space where music and the Alpine landscape come together. It’s a place where artists can step away from the usual studio environment and work surrounded by nature, fresh air and inspiring views.

A little throwback to some Easter content created for Burg Vital Resort a few years ago.

Seasonal moments like Easter are a great opportunity for hospitality businesses to create theme-relevant content on social media. Think special menus, festive brunches, or limited-time culinary experiences that give guests an extra reason to visit.

Whether it’s promoting an Easter menu, a holiday brunch, or simply capturing the atmosphere of the weekend, these occasions naturally lend themselves to engaging and timely content.

A good reminder that seasonal storytelling can be a simple but effective way to keep your social media fresh and relevant throughout the year.

A conversation I had recently touched on something interesting: quite often, reels filmed on an iPhone end up outperforming content created with professional videography.

At first glance that might seem surprising, but it actually makes sense when you think about how people use social media. Content that feels natural, spontaneous and native to the platform often blends more seamlessly into someone’s feed. It feels less like advertising and more like a moment someone simply captured and shared.

iPhone footage is also quicker to produce, easier to adapt to trends and allows for more frequent posting, which can naturally increase visibility over time.

That said, views aren’t always the most important metric.

For some brands, especially in luxury hospitality or high-end lifestyle sectors, maintaining a very refined visual identity can be more important than chasing reach. In those cases, professionally produced video can play a key role in communicating quality, atmosphere and brand positioning.

In many cases, the strongest approach is simply a balance between the two: authentic, platform-native content combined with carefully produced visuals that reinforce the brand.

Because ultimately, the goal isn’t just views, it’s the right impression.

The face behind Omeshorn Marketing.

Hi, I’m Lonneke, a multilingual content marketer based in Monaco, working between L**h and the South of France.

With an international upbringing and almost six years of being self-employed, I bring both structure and creativity to the brands I work with. Before starting Omeshorn Marketing, I worked in a corporate role as an Online Marketing Manager for an e-commerce company, which means I understand both the strategic and the practical side of digital marketing.

With Omeshorn Marketing, I support clients with organic social media management, copywriting for newsletters, marketing materials and translations. Always tailored to your needs, always personal.

I studied International Wine Business (which explains the food & wine enthusiasm), I have a soft spot for beautiful hospitality concepts, and I love dachshunds.

If you’re a Monaco-based business looking for digital marketing support, feel free to get in touch.
