For the past few weeks, Hohensalzburg Castle has transformed into a stage for Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major, RV 93. Together with the Mozart Kammerorchester, it’s been an incredible journey of sharing music and magic in Salzburg. 🇦🇹

So, this is the harp I play Vivaldi’s Concerto on! 😍
It’s a beautiful crafted by Fischer Harps in Germany. 🇩🇪

The Volksharfe is a traditional folk harp with a rich history, originally from Central Europe, particularly German-speaking regions. Smaller than a typical concert harp, its compact body and gently curving silhouette give it a uniquely warm, mellow tone.

As you can see in the picture, the pedals on this harp are quite different from those of a modern concert harp. It features a single-action pedal mechanism, meaning each pedal raises the pitch of the strings by a half-tone.

İşte Vivaldi Konçerto çaldığım arp! 😍
Almanya’daki Fischer Harps tarafından üretilmiş güzel bir Volksharfe. 🇩🇪

Volksharfe, aslen Orta Avrupa’dan, özellikle Almanca konuşulan bölgelerden gelen, zengin bir tarihe sahip geleneksel bir halk arpı. Tipik bir konser arpından daha küçük olan kompakt gövdesi ve hafifçe kıvrılan silüeti ona benzersiz, sıcak ve yumuşak bir ton veriyor.

Fotoğrafta görebileceğiniz gibi, bu arptaki pedallar modern konser arpındakilerden oldukça farklı. Tek kademeli bir pedal mekanizmasına sahip, yani her pedal tellerden elde edilen sesi sadece yarım ton tizleştirebilir.

I had the privilege of coaching Rio—a truly remarkable young talent—during her rehearsal of Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp with the Mozartkinderorchester Salzburg. 🤩

Her musicality and technical mastery at just 12 years old absolutely blew me away. It’s not every day you meet someone so naturally talented yet so poised and dedicated—she’s truly something special! 🥹

If you’re in town, don’t miss her concert on December 22 at the Stiftung Mozarteum’s Großer Saal. 💫

A heartfelt bravo to her brilliant teacher, Katharina Teufel.

It was an honor to give a masterclass for the highly talented pre-college students at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Returning to my alma mater to give a masterclass this time holds such profound and prideful significance for me. And to do it in room 2045, the same room where I sat trembling with stress during the entrance exam at 18 years old – I couldn’t have imagined these days back then :))

Hem de 2045 numaralı odada, yani 18 yaşında okula giriş sınavına girdiğim oda – bu odada stresten titrerken, bugünleri hayal edemezdim:))
