Happy Christmas everyone!

2 years ago I had the pleasure to spend a weekend with a bunch of very good old friends full of jamming. We also recorded the whole session with just a few mics - originally just for ourselves - as it turned out quite interesting, we decided to release the whole session on YouTube. I had the pleasure to contribute to the sessions with my Alto Saxophone. Musicwise I‘d say it’s rather psychedelic/stoner kind of - but judge for yourself.

I also had the pleasure to mix / master the sessions.

I am absolutely excited to share this short excerpt of one of my last productions, the upcoming LP release of Samsara Joyride.

It has been a great adventure, awesome teamwork and huge pleasure to record, mix and produce this piece together - an album that turned out to be very diverse and intense, taking the listener on a deep musical journey from BluesRock to heavy Progressive Tones - but judge for yourself…

The entire LP will be released next year via ToneZone Records.

Massive Studio refacing / upgrade done.

New custom-built adjustable height speaker stands, acoustic treatment, new carpet, restructured the outboard power supply / cabling, new incredible 32 channel AD/DA Converter (Antelope Galaxy), huge workflow optimization……..

It was great Team project - a huge thx to everybody involved.

I‘m really looking forward to the upcoming productions.

A lot of k***s have been twisted - a lot of buttons have been pressed, but now it‘s time for a rest……..

This first half of the year I have been pretty busy in the studio working with many great people on their upcoming releases.

For the summer season I‘m gonna take a break from my studiowork (/bigger productions), to regain some creativity and to focus on my live sound work as summer live season is coming.

I‘ll be „back“ to the studio in autumn again, so if you are interested in starting a production in our cosy soundplayground, hit me up - I still have some free studio time for the end of the year.

Last weekend I had the pleasure to push faders for the incredible DIVES at the Konzerthaus Vienna - thanks for having me - what a pleasure!!! Because the gig was important I brought loads of stuff/equipment as you can see on the picture in the elevator…. 🙂

Also on tour with me from now on: Austrian Audio OC7 & OD5. I can absolutely recommend these mics - incredible sound and almost no bleed on stage (which makes them really special).
The OC7 is the first small-diaphragm condenser you can literally use for everything and it just sounds amazing (snare, guitar, bass, you name it).

LiveSeason 2022 is almost over & done. This summer was a blast, especially after 2 years of low-level live business due to Covid.

Mixed as usual with a lot of funky analog gear and mixing desks. Even after a lot of analog-based mixes I‘m still impressed by how much life&depth extraordinary & unique analog gear can add to an already good-sounding DAW mix. That one especially was a pleasure to put through all the stuff 🙂

Extremely glad to share the first excerpt from the upcoming Savanah Album „Olympus Mons“ - to be released end of May - which we recorded & mixed last year. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the boys and record & mix this album together. Also a great family co-work again with my cousin, Felix Thalhammer. I think we really managed to put the raw energy and vibe of this incredible band to tape. Really looking forward to the release.
