Simpson Bay, Banco Di Caribe, Beruit, Republic Bank, White Swan, Dannisa, The Chef’s Table SXM, 168 Supermarket, SLS, Van Dorp, Sr. Modesta Rd, Simpson Bay Rd, Airport Rd, and surrounding areas will be interrupted on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 9:00AM until 4:00PM.

Simpson Bay, Welfare Rd, Island Food Market, Skip Jack’s, Astra, Cocky Turtle, Ocean Explorers, Biguine Salon, Milada Spa, Levi’s, Kimsha Strip, Capt. D’s, No Where Special, SXM Yacht Club, and surrounding areas will be interrupted on Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 9:00 am until 4:00PM

This outage will allow us to carry out necessary maintenance to our Distribution system.

At 5 pm today Sunday 30th June, 2024 the eye was located near 11.1N 56.5W or about 400 km (250 miles) east-southeast of Barbados.

Maximum sustained winds are 130 MPH (215 Km/h). The system has slightly changed direction and slowed down to west-northwestward at 18 MPH (30 Km/h). The minimum central pressure remains at 960mb. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 45 km (30 miles) from the center and tropical storm-force winds extend outward up to 185 km (115 miles).

Sausage French Toast Roll-Ups

Savory Sausage and Maple French Toast Roll-Ups

Ingredients:

8 slices of white bread, crusts removed
8 breakfast sausage links
3 large eggs
¼ cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Maple syrup for serving
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Directions:

Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Roll out each slice of bread with a rolling pin to flatten.
Cook the sausage links in the skillet until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly.
Place a sausage link at the edge of each bread slice and roll up tightly. Set aside.
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
Dip each rolled-up bread slice in the egg mixture, making sure to coat all sides.
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the roll-ups and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.

Another 60 Barbadian students will get to study with the prestigious Delaware State University (DSU) through its ongoing partnership with the Barbados Community College (BCC). The programme is preparing to take in its second cohort of students this August.

Successful applicants will be able to earn a DSU-accredited bachelor’s degree in either Mathematics or Agricultural Science in four years or less of full-time study. Additionally, the programme will be funded and delivered at no cost to students, except for the minimal registration fees at the BCC.
