For the first time in its 39-year history, Southern University’s School of Nursing (SUSON) has been named the Best Nursing School in the United States.

This prestigious honor was awarded through Nurse.org’s annual Best of Nursing Awards, which celebrate excellence and provide support and recognition to nursing professionals and students nationwide.

The Krewe of Sobek visited the station today to meet with Pastor CeJay and share details about their upcoming parade and other events.

This year’s Mardi Gras theme is “Sobek in Candy Land”, and it promises to be a sweet celebration! Don’t miss the chance to participate in the parade, happening on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

Today kicks off the 318 MLK DreamFest, celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 96th birthday at the historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium—a landmark of African American heritage in Shreveport-Bossier.

The Municipal has seen performances by legends like Sam Cooke, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and B.B. King. In fact, Sam Cooke had a life-changing experience in Shreveport the day before he was set to perform on October 8, 1963, at the Municipal Auditorium—an experience that inspired him to write the powerful anthem "A Change Is Gonna Come."
