How To Be A Responsible Dog Owner - Tip #7
The frequency of veterinary visits depends on your dog's age and health status. Puppies and senior dogs typically require more frequent check-ups, while healthy adult dogs generally need at least an annual exam. These visits usually involve:
- A thorough physical examination to check their overall health.
- Screenings for parasites like heartworms, fleas, and ticks.
- Discussion of any changes in behavior, diet, or activity levels.
- Professional dental cleaning recommendations and assessments.
Vaccinations are crucial for protecting your dog from contagious and potentially fatal diseases. Core vaccinations, recommended for all dogs, include protection against Rabies, Parvovirus and others.
For those interested in adopting a dog, we have a neutered male and a spayed female dog - both of which are 1 1/2 years old - that are available for adoption. They are very well behaved and would make excellent companions. The male, Bamboo, is house trained and may be brought into the house at night for extra protection, if necessary.
