If you are just planning to start or about to start to build your online presence for your career coaching business finding your ICA should be your first focus.

Know who you will serve, target your market, and from there think about what type of career coaching you want to conduct.

Once you well-known your ICA establish your elevator pitch (a short statement of who you are, who your ICA is, and what services/ product you are offering)

Example: “Hi there! My name is Jam I am an executive career coach and I help young legal professionals achieve their growth potentials by assessing their career goals for their expertise”.

If you have a specific ICA and elevator pitch from the start of building your online business presence, it will be easy for you to create your social media content, you are able to attract your potential premium paying clients, grow your online presence, and before you know it you are magnetizing them to come to you and avail your career coaching services”.

Code of Ethics

As a career coach have you list down a standard ethical traits on your clients' career coaching program?

This code of ethics is for your to abide to gain respect from your clients. It is important that they know how are you going to treat them, how do you value them, and your coaching relationship.

So how do you create your code of ethics in you career coaching program?

👉First is to establish why and for who you are writing it
👉List down you characteristics including how your treat and be treated by other people.
👉Create a statement or bullet points indicating your guidelines that you intend to know by your clients.

Example: "As your career coach I will not give any details or advice that you do not believe in to my other clients or contacts,

✅Ultimately transparency with your clients is the key and as they say I will treat others as I wish to be treated.

How do you prepare your clients for your career coaching session?

As they say, preparation is the key. Back when I was a resourcer of candidates for a recruitment consultant, I needed to list down what are my consultants' preferences of CVs to be reviewed. The profile needs to be based on the job description and profile that our client has provided.

As a career coach yourself, how do you help your clients in preparation for their coaching sessions based on what they want to achieve in their career development?

Do you ask them to make notes about their interview struggles on a daily or weekly basis?
Do they need to keep a list of questions for the next call one day prior?
Are you giving them a checklist prior to your session?

Building a career coaching program can be overwhelming. But what is significant is that as a career coach you are able to help your clients by creating a solution for the enhancement of their professional development that will truly impact their life!

I list down here six outline of a program as initial idea:

I. Clear Result to the problem - from A to B
II. Topics - Solutions to your client’s problem
III. Resources / Tools Techniques
IV. Implementation - Action Steps Template, Checklist
V. Testimonials
VI. Supplemental Materials / Bonus

Basically, coaching for someone can be a waste of time if you don’t identify the correct method with the exact approach for them, so market research is the key.

Creating SMART Goal for 2021

It’s the time of the year again that we set goals for ourselves, business, or anything that we want to achieve for the year. But always remember do not just set any goals make sure to set S.M.A.R.T Goals:

You may write your goal on a piece of paper and put it on your desk so you are able to see it from time to time and be reminded. On the other hand, you can write it in your handy planner too.

Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely.

How are you going to accomplish your progress?

What are the step do you plan in order to accomplish it

How long it will take to complete your goal?
