Casablanca is set to welcome the world's largest stadium, the Hassan II Stadium co-designed by Populous and Paris based Oualalou + Choi.
The 115,000 seat football stadium will host the 2030 Football World Cup alongside Portugal, Spain, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.

The stadium's facade design mimics traditional Moroccan clothing and local fabric.

The newly designed 115,000-seat football stadium for the 2030 World Cup has been revealed. It's called the Grand Stade Hassan II Stadium and is located in Benslimane, 40 kilometers from Casablanca.

Japanese Architect Riken Yamamoto is announced winner of the 2024 Pritzker Architecture Prize. His works for the society over the years has been rewarded with the prestigious Pritzker price.

"Yamamoto reconsidered boundaries between public and private realms as societal opportunities, committing to the belief that all spaces may enrich and serve the consideration of an entire community, and not just those who occupy them. With this in mind, he began designing single-family residences that united natural and built environments, welcoming to both guests and passersby. His first project, Yamakawa Villa (Nagano, Japan 1977), is exposed on all sides and situated in the woods, designed to feel entirely like an open-air terrace. The experience significantly influenced his future works as he extended into social housing with Hotakubo Housing (Kumamoto, Japan 1991), bridging cultures and generations through relational living".

The Forest design was inspired by the dense African Forest with overlapping balconies all having a view of the Congo River.

Ghanaian-Scottish Architect Lesley Lokko, author has been awarded the esteemed Royal Gold Medal by the British Institute of British Architects making her the first ever African woman to win this price.

What an achievement for the Architect who doubles as an Author has published several books including Saffron Skies (2005), Bitter Chocolate (2008) A Private Affaire (2011), and Little White Lies (2014).
