This guy is trending on Twitter (X) for deciding that he will be giving his number to a lady he fancies instead of the usual way of asking for her number, and leaving her to make the choice to reach out or not.

For him, it cuts through the stress of going through multiple calls, chats, and dates to find out if she likes him back or a relationship might develop.

I honestly think it makes perfect sense, even if it’s unconventional.

I was also thinking ladies would appreciate the idea, giving that it saves them a lot of trouble too, but many Twitter ladies have been taking it the other way.

They have been saying he is arrogant, his approach is horrible, and that it does not respect women.

I find that to be quite dishonest; simply because we have seen countless posts from women who claim that they do not like it when men (that they are not interested in) pester them for their number, and that they give it out (when it’s not fake) just to get him off their backs. Such numbers often end up being blocked, deleted, or never answered when a call comes through.

Here is an opportunity that puts you in total control of that situation and you turn around and say it’s arrogant and doesn’t respect you.

I have to ask: What do women want??

Some have even claimed that it’s a bad way to approach a stranger.

This approach does not read like one that just goes about dropping numbers on the lap of random ladies. It’s the type that comes after an initial conversation that must have gone well, where both parties vibed well.
The only difference is that instead of the guy taking the initiative to ask for her number, he rather gives her his number and waits to see if she would show an interest in continuing the conversation by texting him first.
Saves time for both parties and everyone is happy.
But e be like say some women do not want to lose that opportunity to do “shakara” and this guy is threatening to take that away.
What do you think?"

'My Honest Thoughts and Review on 'LISABI II, A Legend Is Born', Latest Movie on Netflix.

I found 'LISABI II: a Legend is Born' to be an extremely captivating film, packed with actions. The story revolves around betrayal, specifically how the Egba people betrayed Lisabi. This serves as a valuable lesson to everyone: not to trust everyone around them, including family and friends.

The movie is engaging, with good editing. Adebimpe's character played a significant role in assisting Lisabi, making him win the battle against Oyo empire and their bond lovable.

However, I noticed a few errors, such as a scene where baby Lisabi is being told a story, and a diaper is visible underneath 😂.

Despite these minor flaws, the movie is worth watching. It's a tale of betrayal, war, and sorrow.

"I believe envy and betrayal were the primary motivations behind the Egba people's betrayal of Lisabi. After his victorious war against the Oyo Empire, Lisabi received widespread admiration and support. However, this newfound fame sparked jealousy among his friends and the Egba people, ultimately leading to resentment and betrayal.

This sequence of events suggests that the Egba people's actions were driven by insecurity and a sense of threatened status, rather than any fault of Lisabi's. The betrayal that ensued was a tragic consequence of their envy and insecurity.

Interestingly, the true story of Lisabi's life and death remains unknown, much like that of Moses in the Bible.

To this day, the circumstances surrounding Lisabi's death remain shrouded in mystery. The exact cause of his death, the location of his passing, and the site of his burial all remain unknown. This enduring enigma has only added to the legend of Lisabi, leaving his true story to be passed down through generations."

In fact, the Egba people celebrate Lisabi annually for liberating them from the Oyo Empire.

I highly recommend watching 'Lisabi: The Legend is born'.'

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) has been updated to include a new set of Nigerian words in its diction.

The new words reflect the everyday life of an average Nigerian and the exciting street mannerisms and Pidgin English, which are fast gaining acceptability across Africa and beyond.

Reflecting ethnic nationalities as well as demographics, the new entries also highlight Nigeria’s cultural diversity.

Some of the entries take both noun and verb forms. For instance, OED takes japa as both a noun and a verb. Jand also comes in both parts of speech. This time, the entries also come with pronunciations to support non-Nigerians who are interested in studying the dictions.

Dr Kingsley Ugwuanyi, who consults for OED and provides vocal support, announced the additions on LinkedIn on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

He said OED editors used corpora to determine words that are more frequently and widely used across the country.

“So, the criteria include frequency, widespread use, age (generally words that have been in use for zero to 10 years) and the social significance of the words,” he explained.

Ugwuanyi wrote on LinkedIn: “This time, I not only drafted most of the words but also had the incredible opportunity to provide their pronunciations. So, when you explore the OED online and click on the pronunciations, you will hear my voice bringing these words to life.”

In 2020, OED added 29 entries peculiar to Nigeria, including danfo, okada, next tomorrow and mama put.

2. Abi
3. Adire
4. Agbero
5. Area Boy
6. cross-carpet /cross-carpeting -

"So we have to agree about some things concerning the authority of women.
If you watch movies, not just strict entertainment based movies, but folklores and deep morals-geared movies... There are always significant roles women play.
This movie is evidential enough as it showcases and emphasises on the authority both physical and spiritual of women.
1. Women build, women destroy.
The king's mind was bent into accepting the kingship because his wife begged and encouraged him to, specifically because she promised that 'when it gets too tough and hard for you, my shoulder will be there for you to lean on.
When the same woman got overwhelmed and parked to leave, the king almost ran mad, until the same woman approved of him to marry 7 wives as required of him, he was adamant and ready to damn all consequences.
Just one woman amongst 3 elders nearly scattered their plans until they kind of involved her.
2. When women come together, they can pull down a strong man on the throne and throw him into the bin.
If they like, they make his reign the sweetest in human existence...it sha depends on their mood. Lol.
This yeye woman in the last slide, had a lot of untouched audacity to confront her husband and stop him from creating havoc in the community, but she didn't even though she wasn't cool with what he was doing, until calamity hit her too, she come dey cry anyhow and challenged the man to his face.
3. Why is it that sacrifices of old were mostly done using women? Strong powerful sacrifices? You can't entirely use women for your benefit and dump them, lol. That was what the 7 wives feared would happen to them so they rebelled, until the king was instructed to marry them again and love them from his heart.
See eeh? When a woman feels loved, she is willing to be anything you want her to be, including a sacrificial lamb. The secret is in just loving her right and making her happy.
Women build. Women tear down.
The authority of women is equally spiritual".

We all know the name of this animal to be hyena. We know how ruthless they can be. We have watched documentaries of how they do and all, but there is something some of you may not know about this same hyena.

The look of a female hyena is almost the same as the male. Infact, if you are not someone who had study them, you will not be able to tell.

Just like this one in the picture. This particular one is a female hyena. Surprised right? I know why you are.

Because you can see something that looks like a male pencil underneath.

May I tell you that, a female hyena has the same pencil just like the male.

And one other thing that will surprise you is that that same pencil like thing is where the female hyena give birth through.

Meaning, whenever they are giving birth to their babies, the babies passes though this same pencil like thing.

Most times, they give birth to 4 babies at a time. Imagine the discomfort she would go through.

And most times, just one out of the babies live as the 3 others would not be able to make it out alive because of suffocaatiion.

Mothers go through a lot.

17/08/2024

When a man rises, there are three things his enemies can use to bring him down. His appetite for women and food and his greed for money. If you study the downfall of the greatest men, you will find one of these three at play. So, if you want to rise and not fall, follow these rules:

Rule One: Marry a younger and stunningly beautiful woman who fulfils your desires. And avoid polygamy. However, if one woman is not enough for your libido, and the laws of your country permit it, and you can afford it, all I can say is that polygamy, as undesirable as it can sometimes be, is better than adultery.

Rule Two: Eat only food prepared by yourself, parent, spouse, child, or trusted aide, and avoid other foods as much as possible.

Rule Three: Cut your coat according to your cloth, not your size. And if the cloth is not big enough, then gather more cloth by every legal means possible. You can never have too much money. Focus on expanding your income, rather than on managing it, which is what most poor people do.

Once you follow these rules, you eliminate most of the pitfalls used to bring down great men.

"You will see women like this 👇👇👇, walking from phase 1 to Phase 2, tens or hundreds of kilometers, hawking groundnut, banana, fish, oranges, tomatoes, pepper 😭.

Remember, they choose to earn legitimately. Olosho dey ooh, but dem no do.

You then call them, and start to display your price negotiating skills.

"Aunty, you no gree five yam for five hundred?" She looks up at you, anger in her soul but desperation in her eyes.

"Bros, please help me buy it. Five tubers of yam, ₦500? It's ₦1800 Sir, please"

Then, you asked her to either sell it ₦800 or she leaves with it. She left, thinking a lot in her head. She has to feed, nobody had bought yam from her in two days.

Then, she came back to you. "Uncle, take it ₦1000".

You still shook your head, mbah. "₦800 las las!!" She sold it. Her life depended on it.

But the same YOU will walk into a supermarket to form Obi Cubana, and buy a loaf of bread labelled ₦3000 and even 'dash' the girls on the counter a ₦500 note!

The same loaf of bread you will get at ₦1200 at joebest bakery shop.

And you're asking God to bless you?

Chief, between that lady who hawks under the sun, trying to sell goods not worth ₦5000 and the babe on the counter using iPhone X... who deserves your pity?

Let heavens know your answer so God can choose who to pity too 🤷🤷."

Since assuming office last month, Dr. Adaora Umeoji has been making significant strategic moves. How many of us, as young entrepreneurs, are paying attention to her actions?

She has been visiting key figures and organizations, establishing presence as the new leader. From the Lagos State Governor to Aliko Dangote, the CEO of TGI Group, NIBSS, and IFC, she is connecting with influential stakeholders.

As young entrepreneurs, we should take note and learn from her example. Building a successful business requires forging strategic relationships both within and outside your industry.

You can only thrive beyond a particular level of growth is you don’t build relationships and networks. So, go out there and make those connections!

13/07/2024

The school was built on a swampy land and has been having foundational and structural issues for a very long time.
If not for the corruption in the system, that school should have been closed down a long time ago. But because they always find a way to pay off supervisors who visit to inspect.
Just behind the school, there is serious tin mining going on there.
Children kept drawing the attention of teachers and the school management to it. When they go home, they tell their parents about the structural issues their school has. The cracks. The creaking noises they hear in the walls.
This issue was brought up during PTA meetings severally and after several discussions and meetings on how the issue will be fixed, the school did nothing to correct it.
So why didn't parents take their wards out of the school?
It was because the fees were pretty cheap.
The school management found a way to bring down school fees, thereby beating their competitors. Parents flocked to the school with their wards, neglecting the structural issue the school had.
It is too late to throw blame.
But this should be a wake-up call to many parents.
When the school session resumes again, parents should go to their children's school and inspect their children's classrooms and the school environment.
Don't just stop at the Principal's office always and go back. Move around. See the toilets your children use. Many children suffer infections because most school toilets are neglected. Some toilets are filled with poo and urine and other students are left with no other option than to do their business on top.
Inspect the walls of your children's classroom. The ceilings. Inspect benches. Ask questions. Lay complains when things are not rightly done.
It is your money that sends your children to the school. The school needs you as well as you need them and would do anything to keep your child schooling there.
Stand up for your children's well-being and ensure they are properly cared for.
