Jake and Nicole leave Komorebi and escape to the wilderness of the Canadian Rocky Mountains to immerse in nature. Upon returning we visit a local Vancouver Island Fruit Tree nursery on a small island http://www.TreeEaterNursery.com to get some local permaculture and gardening knowledge and purchase proven edible fruit trees. We continue to fell tree on Komorebi for safety, sun, and gardening and collect slimy kelp seaweed for our garden compost. We adventure into the wild and raw wilderness which surrounds our property and then try to boost our Winter mood, mind, and energy with a near freezing ice bath and cold dip plunge in the wood fired hippie hot tub. WE DID IT!!! Jake and I finished the yurt 😁 obviously we still have a lot more to do like get water, power and a kitchen but we have walls and roof over are heads and that's all that we need right now!! Hope you enjoy ❤️

We have survived year one living off the grid in a yurt in the Canadian wilderness. Year two off grid will include gardening, fruit tree orchard, log cabin, cob house, cob pizza oven, off grid full log cabin washroom/bathroom, and full solar panel and battery system. We spend Christmas alone in our forest Yurt in the forest. For the New Year we take our son Fox to the same mountain Jake Mace was raised on in British Columbia. We escape to our “bug out” location to plant more fruit trees and garden while building a tropical outdoor bamboo shower. We are filing our design for building permit for our off grid home and until we have it and open permit we will be turning our bug out property in a tropical climate into an edible garden of eden and food forest! At the end of this episode....will Fox take his first steps alone before his first birthday

Jake and Nicole are building a new off the grid shower at their wilderness yurt in the rainforest of Canada. This shower structure is made of trees and logs from the forest of Komorebi, Jake and Nicole's property on the Canadian west coast. Soon the tankless water heater and propane tank will go bye-bye and will be replaced by a metal water jacket which will heat water directly from their wood stove, send it to a pressure controlled tank, and be hot shower water on demand whenever we like. Rain water and wood are our two most abundant resources here at Komorebi and this Off Grid bushcraft style log cabin steam shower is dependant on both those resources!
