Introducing the FW24 Collection. The visual symphony unfolded amidst a burnt barren landscape where the collection is described by Creative Director Matthieu Blazy as the “Monumentalism of the everyday: a sense of allure and confidence in the pragmatic, utilitarian and purposeful. How daywear is perceived in this nighttime world; silhouettes are simplified and recognised like monoliths in the dark. In a world on fire, there is something very human in the simple act of dressing.”

🤝 , is an up and coming Lebanese designer and creative director based out of London. Her sculptural designs explore the hidden, or suppressed voices of women from our region’s past and imagine how they might express themselves in today’s world. Her creations delve into concepts of aggression, dark emotion, anger, fury and revenge, feelings that are not always portrayed in classic designs for women.

“I was very young, I started noticing that how people dressed was a big insight into who they were and how they interacted with life, getting dressed is such an intimate ritual.”

Swipe through the Fall 2024 Menswear collection, where blue office cubicles transformed a runway spectacle.

Inspired by the intangible essence of nature, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons showcased garments that echo the surrounding environments. Colorful headpieces and form-hugging trousers coexist with boxy suits, button-up shirts, and tonal ties, embodying the instinctive change people undergo between these opposing spheres. The collection’s hero, a waffle-textured headwear, introduces a vibrant palette, adapting to the varying natural rhythms.

’s Call to Action: Artists Unite for Gaza and Sudan.

Nina Simone once asked, “How can you be an artist and NOT reflect the times? At this crucial time in our lives, when everything is so desperate, when every day is a matter of survival. I don’t think you can help but be involved.” Two decades after her passing, her words resonate with more urgency than ever.

In response to this strife in our region and the tremendous grief, Sudanese-Canadian artist Mustafa the Poet has stepped up to the plate, orchestrating the ‘Artist for Aid’ benefit concert for Gaza and Sudan.

Set in Newark Sympony Hall, the neoclassical hall, draped in red, green, and white lights – an ode to the Palestinian and Sudanese flags, saw performances from the likes of .apollo, , , , , , , , , , , .rap, and other special guests like and .n.alyan.

All proceeds were directed to , a Muslim-Canadian organization that provides food, clean water, medical care, and education in areas ravaged by conflict.

is trying to find his way and his listeners are along for the ride. A little dark, a little nostalgic, Maro’s sound belies his age, and he’s under no illusions about the nature of many of his songs. Listen to his music and it’s plain to see, or hear.

He explains to YUNG, “I believe a lot of us [men] struggle mentally and emotionally, especially in the MENA region. Solely on the example of war and violence, we witness things that we have absolutely no control over, and all of this gets buried in our subconscious. We accept those things as part of our everyday life. The same thing happens with some of the negative repressed feelings that we experience throughout our lifetime, we’ve seen our fathers do it and the children become a reflection of that. But in our society, talking about mental health is a sign of weakness and you’re told that you shouldn’t do that because you’re a man.”

Say hello to YUNG’s latest cover star, whose stripped down sounds unveil their catchy appeal and deeper, significant meanings. Half Lebanese, half Ukrainian, one-time resident of Kuwait, Lebanon, Norway, and now LA, Marwan Daou, aka Maro, has, both literally and figuratively, been around the world.

“May you live in interesting times” is an expression that can cut both ways. It’s certainly true for Maro. Both his homes have gone through challenging times in recent years, and so has he. From posting YouTube videos of his music from his bedroom to signing with and moving to LA, it’s been a wild ride.

“Music is special because it can reach people’s hearts. The same could be said about my song House Along the Road that I wrote last year about my grandmother who had recently passed. “So they’ll take it all away, all the pictures and the frames, all the things that made this house into a home.” With everything happening in Palestine now, I look at the song in a different perspective. When seeing the video of grandmothers being displaced in Gaza, I instantly thought of this song and line. A song’s meaning changes and differs depending on context and who’s listening to it. That’s what art is. It’s like standing in a museum in front of an art piece, countless interpretations can be made,” he explains to YUNG.

In the studio at Maadi Town Mafia Records, leans into the mic. The atmosphere is charged, but it’s a familiar kind of electricity. It’s the same energy that courses through the streets of Maadi and Imbaba – neighbourhoods that have been both his cradle and crucible. This is the lifeblood of his debut album, ‘Mangesto.’ It’s a statement, a journey, but perhaps most importantly, it’s a beginning, a real introduction. It’s a chapter in Wingii’s unfolding story.

“Growing up in Imbaba, things were tough there, but I never really batted an eye,” Wingii shares with YUNG. “I had family, uncles, and enough street cred to have my back. That gave me the necessary confidence to tackle life, no matter how scary or challenging things may be. And that translates into my music and identity.”

His confidence is palpable, but it’s not showy – the kind that’s earned, not given. It’s this grounded self-assurance that finds its voice in the diverse sounds of ‘Mangesto.’

A serial collaborator and creative, Elhussein began his journey working on portrait and fashion photography, but quickly fell in love with video, graphic design, animation and digital art.

I am excited to dive deeper into what makes me laugh, what brings me joy…. I am diving into my own happiness within this universe I am creating.”

Skating through Jenin’s streets with his board after class, Charlie Davis, then an English teacher, never imagined that his routine skateboarding would ignite a skating movement in Occupied Palestine.

In the West Bank, where overcrowding and the constant specter of violence limit play spaces, this simple act of skateboarding, so common in some parts of the world, was a novelty.

Here skateboarding was free from the counter-culture tag it often carried in the West as Davis reflects, “It was just skateboarding, plain and simple, without any preconceived notions attached to it. People were open to it, which was heartening.”

It was this initial curiosity among the children, coupled with the scarcity of safe play spaces that sparked the idea for . Fast forward ten years and SkatePal has constructed a handful of skate parks across Palestine, creating community spaces for kids to momentarily escape the harsh realities of life, first in Asira Al-Shamaliya in 2015, followed by others in Ramallah, Al-Bireh, and Jayyous.
